The Niger State Police Command has arrested a 40-year-old woman, Victoria Ebunoha Chukwumezie, for allegedly attempting to traffick three toddlers at Diko Junction in Suleja Local Government Area.

Police spokesperson, SP Wasiu Abiodun, revealed in a statement that the suspect, who resides in Nyanya, Abuja, was spotted on November 5, 2025, around 5 p.m. with the children, all between ages 2 and 3, under suspicious circumstances.

Officers attached to the Gawu-Babangida Division quickly intervened and took her into custody. During questioning, the suspect claimed she picked the children from Lambata and was transporting them to Abuja to “take care of them.”

The children were identified as Kazeem, Ya’amadu, and Idris. Their parents have been notified, while investigations continue to determine the motive and whether more people are involved.

In a different case, two suspects — Halilu Haggai Haruna and Maiyaki Ayuba — were arrested for conspiracy, impersonation, robbery, and extortion. The duo were reported to have disguised as operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on October 30, 2025, and stopped a motorcyclist at Shiroro Roundabout in Minna.

They allegedly labeled the rider a fraudster, seized his motorcycle, and extorted ₦400,000 from him. The matter was later reported to the Tudun-Wada Police Division, and through technical intelligence, both suspects were tracked down and arrested on November 2, 2025, in their Sauka-Kahuta residences.
