Super Eagles head coach, Eric Chelle, has unveiled a provisional 31-man squad ahead of Nigeria’s crucial 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying matches against Rwanda and South Africa.

Nigeria will host Rwanda before travelling to Bloemfontein to face South Africa on September 9, in what is seen as a decisive round of fixtures for the Eagles’ qualification hopes.

The squad features regular stars including Napoli striker Victor Osimhen, Bayer Leverkusen forward Victor Boniface, Chippa United goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali, Fulham defender Calvin Bassey, and team captain William Troost-Ekong.

The outcome of these fixtures could make or break Nigeria’s chances of booking a ticket to the 2026 World Cup, which will be jointly hosted by the United States, Mexico, and Canada.

Currently, the Super Eagles sit fourth in Group C with seven points, trailing behind South Africa, Rwanda, and Benin Republic.
