Trading activities on the floor of the Nigerian Stock Exchange yesterday witnessed another drop in share prices as bears sustained their grip on the local bourse following the sell- off that pervaded the stock market.
Equities market losses widen the fourth trading session as investors remained on the sideline following investment sell off.
The local bourse recorded 12 gainers against 28 losers. Consequently, the All-Share Index dipped 364.13 basis points or 1.19 per cent to close at 30,036.15 index points as against 30.400.28 recorded the previous day while market capitalisation of equities depreciated by N136 billion from N11.336 trillion the previous day to N11.200 trillion as market sentiment remained on the negative territory.
Meanwhile, a turnover of 216.2 million shares exchanged in 4,508 deals was recorded in the day’s trading.
The premium sub-sector was the most active (measured by turnover volume); with 76.8 million shares exchanged by investors in 1,686 deals.
